Freddie Ljungberg hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 25 minutes in the game Fertus Oropesa did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Benjamin Ekström. Braulio Lordi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bianco Cherubini in the 31st minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 35 minutes into the game, when Valentin Esdras put in a rough tackle. In the 36th match minute, C.F.Fuenlabrada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Esdras to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Ekström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Sebastián Torrico managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Albino Oso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bianco Cherubini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, C.F.Fuenlabrada's Randy Doty got a free kick in the 53rd minute. A collision led to CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Kiril Ivkov hit a great ball. After 55 played minutes, C.F.Fuenlabrada's Freddie Ljungberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Braulio Lordi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in C.F.Fuenlabrada reached it. Braulio Lordi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bianco Cherubini in the 57th minute. With a little luck, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Braulio Lordi got control of the ball when Bianco Cherubini tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th match minute, C.F.Fuenlabrada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Ljungberg to maneuver through the defense. C.F.Fuenlabrada made a substitution. Edward Västerberg replaced Bianco Cherubini. After 62 played minutes C.F.Fuenlabrada got a freekick which was hit by Freddie Ljungberg. Braulio Lordi was a little too slow when Edward Västerberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-1. Edward Västerberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Braulio Lordi made a huge save. Sebastián Torrico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Oso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Braulio Lordi made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Edward Västerberg sent off a good shot on target. Randy Doty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE made a substitution. Alejo Montez replaced Albino Oso. Freddie Ljungberg charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddie Ljungberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, Freddie Ljungberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th match minute, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Mincho to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Västerberg in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Braulio Lordi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Braulio Lordi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Västerberg's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edward Västerberg in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Braulio Lordi saved CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE from getting behind. When Edward Västerberg came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the C.F.Fuenlabrada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Västerberg couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded C.F.Fuenlabrada left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE.
