Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Trubin having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Porto came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Isaac Göransson was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Clube de Gaya's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Fredy Montero advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-0 in the 10th minute. António Trubin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 13th minute of the match. Bakos Endre made in the 16th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Major Barna. In the 18th minute, Dimas Candeias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube de Gaya's zone, Major Barna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Trubin came out of the goal and Major Barna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Porto in the 21st minute of play. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Sporting Clube de Gaya's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. Fredy Montero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Fodor Daniel made a huge save. António Trubin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balazs Lajos, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dimas Candeias's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dimas Candeias helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th match minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimas Candeias to maneuver through the defense. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Manuel Porto sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube de Gaya defense, Antal Valentin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of António Trubin. The Sporting Clube de Gaya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that António Trubin should have stopped the shot. After 47 minutes, Tarcísio Peixoto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Clube de Gaya and the Hungary players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sporting Clube de Gaya getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Tarcísio Peixoto hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 54th minute of play forced Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper António Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with António Trubin in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube de Gaya from getting a goal against them. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but António Trubin made a huge save. Manuel Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Trubin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 68th minute of play forced Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper António Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bakos Endre made in the 73rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sporting Clube de Gaya's Li Shi Xiang. The audience was convinced that Manuel Porto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 76th minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Antal Valentin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Tarcísio Peixoto was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Li Shi Xiang hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Takacs Tibor during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Sporting Clube de Gaya were victorious despite being under pressure from Hungary for much of the match.
