Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neal Messer, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Denmark's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gonzalo Boye was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Antoni Villarroel heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Neal Messer came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 21st minute of play forced F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chris Nygaard kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Neal Messer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neal Messer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. In the 25th minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neal Messer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Bertram Svenningsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA the free kick. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neal Messer in the 34th minute. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Neal Messer. But to his dismay, Neal Messer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 42 minutes, Theis Winther mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Denmark and the F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Neal Messer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 53 minutes, Jose-Antonio Vazquez made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Denmark's Keld Paulsen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 56 minutes into the match, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chris Nygaard. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alejandro Verdu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jose-Antonio Vazquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Keld Paulsen having to make a save. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose-Antonio Vazquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 70 minutes, Jose-Antonio Vazquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose-Antonio Vazquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denmark's attentive Theis Winther managed to snatch the ball when Federico Zanetti made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. Antoni Villarroel struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA. When Jose-Antonio Vazquez came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose-Antonio Vazquez couldn't finish the play. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA made a substitution. Joan Puig replaced Antoni Villarroel. 85 minutes into the game, Federico Zanetti threw the ball into play from the sideline. Denmark's Theis Winther quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 87 minutes into the match, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Jose-Antonio Vazquez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keld Paulsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joan Puig scored 3-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keld Paulsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 93rd minute of the match, Chris Nygaard tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alejandro Verdu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Denmark had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
