Fulvio Gabriele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 5th minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fulvio Gabriele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. Fulvio Gabriele came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in FC Aquile Azzurre's zone, Wim Wilmes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulvio Gabriele came out of the goal and Wim Wilmes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 16th minute of play forced FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Fulvio Gabriele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulvio Gabriele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fulvio Gabriele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 40th minute of play forced FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Fulvio Gabriele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the FC Aquile Azzurre defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fulvio Gabriele. The FC Aquile Azzurre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fulvio Gabriele should have stopped the shot. After having played for 44 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Demetrio Costantino fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Aquile Azzurre's protests and gave Demetrio Costantino a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes FC Aquile Azzurre got a freekick which was hit by Demetrio Costantino. The FC Aquile Azzurre players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-3.

Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Fulvio Gabriele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Fulvio Gabriele, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Demetrio Costantino got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to FC Aquile Azzurre getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Demetrio Costantino hit a great ball. Fulvio Gabriele was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 63 minute of play. Fulvio Gabriele was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Gijsbert ter Kruimer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. After 72 minutes FC Aquile Azzurre's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Wim Wilmes to score against Fulvio Gabriele in FC Aquile Azzurre's goal. 0-7 after 72 minutes. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fulvio Gabriele. Fulvio Gabriele dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. With a little luck, FC Aquile Azzurre's Fulvio Gabriele got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Fulvio Gabriele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes.
