Lorencio Echeto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Fodor Daniel made a huge save. Valdemar Olsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antal Valentin's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 15th minute of play forced Libra's goalkeeper Valdemar Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Libra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. Valdemar Olsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Major Barna's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sigge Fürst in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Fodor Daniel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Major Barna's late challenge caught a Libra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 89th minute of the match Tony Adams sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fodor Daniel skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Szekeres Tamas hit a great ball. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armin Nestares in the 94th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Libra were victorious despite being under pressure from Hungary for much of the match.
