The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilian Ramps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilian Ramps in the 5th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilian Ramps in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilian Ramps in the 14th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilian Ramps took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kenneth Knudsen. Kenneth Knudsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Beek City's Gilian Ramps got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilian Ramps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Knudsen having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Joery Cortens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Kenneth Knudsen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Beek City getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Edmílson van Beek hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in AEK FC's zone, Gilian Ramps stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Knudsen came out of the goal and Gilian Ramps tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

A throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game was made by Atle Solvang with Lars-Erik Angvik as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Kenneth Knudsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilian Ramps in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute AEK FC were awarded a corner. Cornelius Bjørgo went to the cornerflag to take it. After 62 played minutes AEK FC got a freekick which was hit by Fenrir Ragnarsson. AEK FC's Bjørn Østby was substituted for Cornelius Bjørgo. AEK FC made a substitution. Henrik Tjelle replaced Atle Solvang. A collision led to AEK FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Fenrir Ragnarsson hit a great ball. The long shot by Dedé van Beek in the 64th minute really tested Kenneth Knudsen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 69th minute Joery Cortens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Knudsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilian Ramps recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st match minute, AEK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 任远兴 to maneuver through the defense. Gilian Ramps received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kenneth Knudsen came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilian Ramps slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 72nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilian Ramps in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kenneth Knudsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gilian Ramps might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kenneth Knudsen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilian Ramps ran back to his position shaking his head. Kenneth Knudsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilian Ramps, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 minutes AEK FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dedé van Beek who took care of the corner kick. Dedé van Beek made a great header on Beek City's corner, it was just that AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen managed to reach the ball for a save. Kenneth Knudsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilian Ramps in the 89th minute. Gilian Ramps's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Kenneth Knudsen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.

The AEK FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Beek City's performance. The match ended with a win for Beek City.
