France's Frank Peletier got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. America Futebol Clube SP's Nildo Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camille Baume in the 34th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The America Futebol Clube SP fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. France were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
