Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolando Amorebieta in the 23rd minute. Agnaldo de Alcântara's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agnaldo de Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. Agnaldo de Alcântara hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Jacinto Cuadrado came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen. But to his dismay, Bertram Svenningsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Boca Juniors's Arkadiusz Banaszak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Keld Paulsen. That made the score 2-1 after 30 minutes of play. Agnaldo de Alcântara was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 34 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo de Alcântara. In the 35th minute, Bertram Svenningsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arkadiusz Banaszak made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen. When Mathias Ludvigsen fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Mathias Ludvigsen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Mathias Ludvigsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the game, Jacek Krzynowek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Keld Paulsen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Jacek Krzynowek got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

If Ermegildo Edorta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boca Juniors's Rolando Amorebieta got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 55th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merih Sikevich kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Bertram Svenningsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute, Rolando Amorebieta made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Hitzeder Manrique replaced Arkadiusz Banaszak. Jacek Krzynowek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bjarne Kirkegaard. 76 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Amorebieta came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Silverio Gipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Rolando Amorebieta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Jacinto Cuadrado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mikkel Wulff in the 85th minute. Silverio Gipuzkoa got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Silverio Gipuzkoa hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the game, Bertram Svenningsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertram Svenningsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute of the game Hitzeder Manrique made a throw-in which Olaf Varela played forward. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Rainerio Obis got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Jacinto Cuadrado successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rainerio Obis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Denmark players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Boca Juniors.
