Gilbert Bonsaint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Walery Fikus tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Cugat in the 16th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Cugat came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, one of CLAYMORE COUNTRY:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CLAYMORE COUNTRY. The penalty shot was made by Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Lucas Maciel. 1-1. 24 minutes into the match, CLAYMORE COUNTRY's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Lucas Maciel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Cugat, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the game, CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Gilbert Bonsaint nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
