In the 12th minute of the match, Cipriano Ganix tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Ekialde Nadal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers, 1-0. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egbert Nijveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ekialde Nadal struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PERSPOLIS. Edgar Badia came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Lars Meesters. But to his dismay, Lars Meesters quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bela Herrero in the 27th minute of play. Honorio Carceles kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When Bela Herrero fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PERSPOLIS's protests and gave Bela Herrero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Bela Herrero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ekialde Nadal to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Edgar Badia in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 53rd minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Edgar Badia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of PERSPOLIS's Edgar Badia. Edgar Badia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57th minute Ekialde Nadal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Frutos Barrios hit a great ball. The referee ignored PERSPOLIS's protests and gave Frutos Barrios a yellow card for diving instead. 3-3 became the score in the 63rd minute when Cipriano Ganix elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 68th minute of the match, Lars Meesters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edgar Badia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. PERSPOLIS's Max Thrane was substituted for Yiyo Esperta. PERSPOLIS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Honorio Carceles in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Axel Uplegger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, PERSPOLIS's Edgar Badia got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgar Badia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 92nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Eikelkamp to maneuver through the defense. Honorio Carceles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Feria to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
