Fabricio Andrade made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by New England Minas's Alperen Öksüz. After 15 minutes of play, New England Minas's Edgardo Silva made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! 24 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Silva came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 28th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas got control of the ball when Felipinho Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Emenon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipinho Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremy Nicholas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipinho Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save New England Minas from getting a goal against them. Tio Lio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tio Lio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tio Lio scored 4-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. New England Minas fully deserved thier win.
