Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafal Pieprz in the 19th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Serbia got a freekick which was hit by Borjan Golubovic. Kajetan Banan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Rafal Pieprz sped through Serbia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. In the 33rd minute, Borussia Dortmund's Rafal Pieprz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. In the 37th minute, Rafal Lampa made a precise shot to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Serbia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Kajetan Banan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Borussia Dortmund's Kajetan Banan in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Serbia's goalie prevented a goal. In the 45th minute Kajetan Banan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Serbia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladeta Jovic to maneuver through the defense.

After some careless play in the Serbia defense, Rafal Pieprz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. The Serbia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zvezdan Nedeljkovic should have stopped the shot. In the 61st minute, Cvijetin Nanusevski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kajetan Banan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to interfere. Wincenty Mazurkiewicz's late challenge caught a Serbia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wincenty Mazurkiewicz helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Wincenty Mazurkiewicz. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Serbia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zivko Cvetkovic didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Filip Moczkiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Filip Moczkiewicz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincenty Mazurkiewicz in the 72nd minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Serbia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cvijetin Nanusevski to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's Rafal Pieprz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. 78 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Kajetan Banan came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Borussia Dortmund walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
