In the 27th match minute, FC Werdenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Volker Unger to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Evgeniy Babich kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Keld Paulsen. That made the score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. 34 minutes in the game Arnold Ziswiler did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Volker Unger. Kenn Skou got a throw-in 42 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Bertram Svenningsen. 45 minutes into the game, Aaron Kappel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Werdenberg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. A collision led to FC Werdenberg getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Aaron Kappel hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Nygaard to make the kick off. In the 65th minute, Chris Nygaard sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Werdenberg's Manuel Lajoie didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Lajoie saved FC Werdenberg from getting behind. In the 68th minute Bertram Svenningsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Lajoie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tudor Caragea in the 79th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes in the game Simon Gunnarsson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gökmen Uzkan. Manuel Lajoie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chris Nygaard in the 82nd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 85 minutes into the game, when Mathias Ludvigsen put in a rough tackle. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Gunnarsson in the 86th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tudor Caragea in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keld Paulsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Volker Unger charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Volker Unger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Werdenberg getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Volker Unger hit a great ball.
