The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Croatia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrik Terzic to maneuver through the defense. Wang Fei Feng received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ilija Skugor came out and tried to block the shot, but Wang Fei Feng slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Bruno Africano lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Ilija Skugor. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Silvije Santek hit a great ball. The supporters of Alvinegro Carioca booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvije Santek didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Alvinegro Carioca's Bruno Africano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Croatia's Ilija Skugor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Croatia from getting a goal against them. When Baybars-Tolgahan Balta came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Alvinegro Carioca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baybars-Tolgahan Balta couldn't finish the play. Alvinegro Carioca's Bruno Africano was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 36th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Bruno Africano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Diniz came free, but Ilija Skugor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Africano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Ilija Skugor made a huge save. Ilija Skugor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Panos Lillis in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bruno Africano was the one to do the kick off. In the 66th minute, Baybars-Tolgahan Balta made a precise shot to the right of Ilija Skugor. Croatia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. When Atak Sehriyar fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alvinegro Carioca's protests and gave Atak Sehriyar a yellow card for diving instead. Atak Sehriyar hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The throw-in from Michel da Silveira in the 72nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Croatia's Martin Bosak. In the 74th minute, one of Croatia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Croatia. Croatia were furious when Benjamin Domazet was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Benjamin Domazet kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atak Sehriyar, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute, Michel da Silveira made a precise shot to the right of Ilija Skugor. Croatia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 11-0. 87 minutes into the match, Bruno Africano notched a goal, 12-0, to the right of Croatia's Ilija Skugor. Ilija Skugor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Atak Sehriyar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 97th minute, Michel da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
