John Terry kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Emil Cvitanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isac Zub, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Romania's Aurel Crivoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikola Vlašić in the 20th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ciprian Toma was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Horea Boian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Cvitanović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Croatia's goalkeeper Emil Cvitanović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 79 minutes in the game, Ciprian Toma dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joško Poklepović in the 89th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 95 played minutes Romania got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Stanca. In the 96th minute of the match, Miran Tudor got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aurel Crivoi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Romania had won after a very even match.
