A throw-in in the 35th minute of the game was made by Matías Machado with Leopoldo Vidal as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sreten Popovic made a kick off. If Dida Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gurdurão getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Diamantino Sergipano hit a great ball. Matías Machado made in the 58th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Leopoldo Vidal immediately put the ball in play. After a rather tough play, Gurdurão's Magno Bertassi got a free kick in the 60th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Gurdurão's goal looked a bit too open when Sreten Popovic came free, but Wilson Vianna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Rubens Vale in the 74th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Serbia's Momir Gisic. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Jovan Borisov hit a great ball. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Galon Damašas in the 90th minute of play. The Gurdurão manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Serbia to win.
