Lars Meesters's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yu Ming Nan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and VC Duisburg 2012's Yu Ming Nan didn't even have to move. Andy Neeskens took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's late challenge caught a VC Duisburg 2012's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustaaf Groeneveldt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaaf Groeneveldt to maneuver through the defense. Andy Neeskens took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Netherlands players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VC Duisburg 2012.
