In the 4th minute, FC CSKA's Ahmet Refik Ülgü ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 20th minute of play. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruslan Dzhalev in the 22nd minute of play. After some careless play in the FC CSKA defense, Felipe Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Georgi Velinov. The FC CSKA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Georgi Velinov should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Moura in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Georgi Velinov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Georgi Velinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ren Yan Qing made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 47th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georgi Velinov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Roderigo in the 55th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC CSKA made a substitution. Téo Vieira replaced Tenyo Fakirov.
