Falcão Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Falcão Cunha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Belgium's Nigel Devos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rubens Rezende in the 17 minute of the game. Gracie Barra's Falcão Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenny Clocheret in the 17th minute of play. After 17 minutes of play, Belgium's Lenny Clocheret made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Falcão Cunha was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Augusto Saldanha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Casper Claes. That made the score 1-3 in the 20 minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Olavo Costa threw the ball into play from the sideline. Belgium's Floris Claeys quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Saldanha in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gracie Barra's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Şamil Sağman in the 26th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Cunha having to interfere. Augusto Saldanha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. Yves Dervaux took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Falcão Cunha. Falcão Cunha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Falcão Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gracie Barra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten was slow to take the kick. During this time Belgium's players had a chance to rest. Edward Vanderstraeten made a great header on Belgium's corner, it was just that Gracie Barra's Falcão Cunha managed to reach the ball for a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augusto Saldanha was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gracie Barra's goalkeeper Falcão Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gracie Barra made a substitution. Nilton Botelho replaced Pedro Velloso. Gracie Barra's Snorri De Hond was substituted for Augusto Saldanha. Gracie Barra's Hugo de Queirós was substituted for Jamey Hankins. If Snorri De Hond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute Snorri De Hond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Sander Dermaut got a free kick in the 71st minute. Snorri De Hond scored 2-5 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casper Claes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olavo Costa made in the 78th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Belgium's Floris Claeys. 80 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Falcão Cunha, 2-6. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Snorri De Hond in the 83rd minute of play. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton Botelho in the 85th minute of the match. When Gracie Barra's Snorri De Hond in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Belgium's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Snorri De Hond in the 89th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Snorri De Hond made a precise shot to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-6. The Belgium supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgium would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
