The Jānis Lielais was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artūrs Sagalats in the 23rd minute of the match. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Artūrs Sagalats sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the match, SK Annenieki's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Jānis Lielais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jāzeps Pics. Jānis Lielais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Antal Valentin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jānis Lielais was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The SK Annenieki fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jānis Lielais should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
