The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hector Hugo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavio Vittori having to make a save. 5 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Hugo came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the game, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Hector Hugo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavio Vittori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Siricio Liotta came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siricio Liotta couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 14th minute of play forced Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 21 minutes, Hector Hugo made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Italy's Flavio Vittori tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Siricio Liotta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Italy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marius Neset took the corner. The supporters of Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gianpaolo Mascari didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Hector Hugo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Flavio Vittori. The goal made the score 3-0. In the 34th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurel Crivoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Aurel Crivoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 39th minute of play. Hector Hugo scored 4-0 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flavio Vittori, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zaccheo Andolina to make the kick off. Aurel Crivoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 58th minute of play. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Hugo in the 60th minute of the match. Hector Hugo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Vittori having to interfere. A collision led to Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Radomil Michnik hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Hector Hugo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Guld Run in the 71 minute of the game. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurel Crivoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK made a substitution. Paul Hermansson replaced Hector Hugo. In the 77th minute, Paul Hermansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. After a rather tough play, Italy's Deodato Magliozzi got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 93rd minute, Paul Hermansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari.
