In the 9th minute Jurand Hyska shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Ghițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Ludomir Pysz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The referee gave PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lento Phoenix, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's Wawrzyniec Pozorski. 0-1. A collision led to RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Olgierd Matela hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moise Ţurlău in the 18th minute of play forced RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's goalkeeper Wawrzyniec Pozorski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Jurand Hyska recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dacian Ghițescu. Jurand Hyska showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Jurand Hyska kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dacian Ghițescu. That made the score 2-1 in the 23 minute of play. Wawrzyniec Pozorski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Golo Phoenix in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jurand Hyska to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristide Fetea to maneuver through the defense. If Jurand Hyska had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jurand Hyska could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Dacian Ghițescu made a huge save. 39 minutes into the match, RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's goal looked a bit too open when Aristide Fetea came free, but Wawrzyniec Pozorski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Strong Phoenix kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Golo Phoenix made the kick off in the second half. Golo Phoenix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Wawrzyniec Pozorski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA got a freekick which was hit by Jurand Hyska. 58 minutes into the game, RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's Jurand Hyska nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dacian Ghițescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Dacian Ghițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olgierd Matela in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Golo Phoenix in the 84th minute of play forced RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's goalkeeper Wawrzyniec Pozorski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moise Ţurlău sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Moise Ţurlău struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Wawrzyniec Pozorski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca. In the 94th minute Jurand Hyska shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Ghițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dacian Ghițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bogumil Marchefka in the 95th minute of play. The RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
