With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maicon Arruda in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Gildo Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Adrian Dreifuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute Yuri Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guilherme Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maicon Arruda to make the kick off. Frank Sachss short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Gildo Furtado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, America FC's Gildo Furtado got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, America FC's Maicon Arruda got a free kick in the 74th minute. Frank Sachs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Gildo Furtado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Lopez in the 87th minute of play. After 90 played minutes, America FC's Gilmar Maranhense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommy Kahn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in America FC reached it. In the 92nd minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 minutes, Chris Mergenthaler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the America FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maicon Arruda scored 3-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
