The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cai Yue Guang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Bolas in the 4th minute of play. If Rareș Tatulici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kim Bolas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cai Yue Guang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Armağan Yörük hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kim Bolas in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cai Yue Guang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 21 minutes, Manuel Isăilă made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mike Axisa was a little too slow when Manuel Isăilă got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 3-0. Mike Axisa made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Manuel Isăilă sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Ninjas in Pyjamas booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pepe Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pepe Ferreira got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ulises Ixidor. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kim Bolas to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Manuel Isăilă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mike Axisa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Song Guang Zhan got a free kick in the 54th minute. Ninjas in Pyjamas's Cai Yue Guang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leszek Cupial in the 58th minute of play. Kenneth Almkvist made a great header on Ninjas in Pyjamas's corner, it was just that Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa managed to reach the ball for a save. Mike Axisa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Isăilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 83 minutes of play, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Manuel Isăilă made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mike Axisa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Sliema Dragons FC defense, Manuel Isăilă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike Axisa. The Sliema Dragons FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike Axisa should have stopped the shot. Manuel Isăilă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mike Axisa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Ghitã Butuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Axisa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ninjas in Pyjamas were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sliema Dragons FC for a fine match.
