Fausto do Valle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcelo Goito showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, New Pi's Marcelo Goito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto do Valle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Avantchê's Eusebio Rajoi got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Avantchê's goalkeeper Fausto do Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Avantchê's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Marcelo Goito scored to the left of an out of position Fausto do Valle, making the score, 3-0. Marcelo Goito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fausto do Valle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Marcelo Goito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute, New Pi's Marcelo Goito ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fausto do Valle. Fausto do Valle yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Goito in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto do Valle saved Avantchê from getting behind. In the 28th minute of the game Tauno Põldroos made a throw-in which Tuncer Bicanoğlu played forward. Maximo Godoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Rajoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcelo Goito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fausto do Valle. That made the score 5-0 in the 39 minute of play. A throw-in in the 46th minute of the game was made by Tauno Põldroos with Marcelo Dejean as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Abraão to make the kick off. New Pi's Maximo Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Cardoso in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Avantchê were awarded a corner. Douglas Cardoso went to the cornerflag to take it. Douglas Cardoso made a great header on Avantchê's corner, it was just that New Pi's Maximo Godoy managed to reach the ball for a save. 56 minutes into the match, New Pi's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebio Rajoi came free, but Maximo Godoy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Pierre-Alexandre Helsens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fausto do Valle was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Fausto do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roque Argina in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute New Pi were awarded a corner. Roque Argina went to the cornerflag to take it.
