Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Goito in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andreas Gulstorff prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 9 minutes into the game, Sindre Walle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Nordsjælland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Pi the free kick. The supporters of New Pi booed when FC Nordsjælland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sindre Walle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 11 minutes of play, New Pi's Marcelo Goito made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andreas Gulstorff was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maximo Godoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitar Berbatov, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paul Caniggia during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Szczepan Mitus's late challenge caught a FC Nordsjælland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Szczepan Mitus helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes New Pi got a freekick which was hit by Szczepan Mitus. In the 20th minute of the match Daniel Svensson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maximo Godoy skillfully saved the ball. Jørgen Otteskov lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 34th minute, one of FC Nordsjælland:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Nordsjælland. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for New Pi. Generoso Artizar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Andreas Gulstorff. 0-2. Set Fernando took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andreas Gulstorff. Andreas Gulstorff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Goito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andreas Gulstorff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Goito in the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Nordsjælland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Generoso Artizar was slow to take the kick. During this time New Pi's players had a chance to rest. Marcelo Goito received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Andreas Gulstorff came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelo Goito slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 58th minute. With a little luck, FC Nordsjælland's Andreas Gulstorff got control of the ball when Marcelo Goito tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrad Harder in the 65th minute of play forced New Pi's goalkeeper Maximo Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andreas Gulstorff made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Marcelo Goito sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched New Pi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
