The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leoncio Serra. In the 6th minute, Malte Schiele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 7 in the game by Leoncio Serra from a close distance when the talented Tommy Kahn managed to make a qualified save. Germany's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute, Genaro Japón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germany's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Chayo Ramis scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Kahn, making the score, 2-0. 15 minutes into the match, Futbolin's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Holweck came free, but Albi Campoamor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Futbolin fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Futbolin:s Albi Campoamor showed great skill when he stopped Frank Sachs:s penalty. Tommy Kahn was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Genaro Japón. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Nestor Paio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Nestor Paio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Futbolin getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Genaro Japón hit a great ball. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Albi Campoamor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albi Campoamor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Paio struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Futbolin. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albi Campoamor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. 48 minutes into the game, Tage Habbestad recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn. Tage Habbestad showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
In the 53rd minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. Albi Campoamor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Sachs in the 59th minute. If Nestor Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 62 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Albin Holweck kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albi Campoamor. That made the score 4-2 in the 72 minute of play. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leoncio Serra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albi Campoamor made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute Leoncio Serra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tage Habbestad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tage Habbestad might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tage Habbestad ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Futbolin fans cheered their team off the field, for while Germany had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
