Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Cedrik Neesens started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loid Gijsbrechts having to interfere. A collision led to Young Ostend United getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Pino Coryn hit a great ball. If Mikkel Wulff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th match minute, Young Ostend United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pino Coryn to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Simon Bendtsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnny Van Hoeyvelt in the 13th minute. Mikkel Wulff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Loid Gijsbrechts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Denmark booed when Young Ostend United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aime Van Beylen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chris Nygaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loid Gijsbrechts having to interfere. When Bertram Svenningsen came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bertram Svenningsen couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Denmark's Keld Paulsen got control of the ball when Johnny Van Hoeyvelt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Loid Gijsbrechts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Chris Nygaard made the kick off in the second half. Johnny Van Hoeyvelt hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Simon Bendtsen got a free kick in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loid Gijsbrechts saved Young Ostend United from getting behind. Loid Gijsbrechts made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Chris Nygaard sent off a good shot on target. Bertram Svenningsen might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Loid Gijsbrechts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bertram Svenningsen ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cedrik Neesens in the 67th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Johnny Van Hoeyvelt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Keld Paulsen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cedrik Neesens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keld Paulsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. A collision led to Young Ostend United getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Marcus Roggen hit a great ball. 81 minutes in the game Aime Van Beylen did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Raymond Rutgeerts. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedrik Neesens in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85thth minute of the game Chris Nygaard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Young Ostend United's Loid Gijsbrechts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Aime Van Beylen in the 87th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Lars Steen. After having played for 94 minutes, Johnny Van Hoeyvelt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young Ostend United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Van Hoeyvelt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denmark were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
