Genaro Asur was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wang Yi Nan lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 30th minute Miguel Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Asur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, FC Lëtzebuerg's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Lawrence came free, but Jorge Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Sanches might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Genaro Asur. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Sanches ran back to his position shaking his head. Genaro Asur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Jorge Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Lawrence in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
