Mikhail Ignatov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Auer having to interfere. A hard shot 6 in the game by Mikhail Ignatov from a close distance when the talented Fabio Auer managed to make a qualified save. Austria's players were relieved. Fabio Auer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gennadiy Demyanenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Austria's Fabio Auer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Austria from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Austria getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Emil Seidler hit a great ball. Leonid Malafeev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Auer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. When Leonid Malafeev fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Krasnodar FC's protests and gave Leonid Malafeev a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Krasnodar FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonid Malafeev. After a rather tough play, Austria's Jonas Nalder got a free kick in the 17th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gennadiy Demyanenko in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Auer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Fabio Auer managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Krasnodar FC's Mikhail Ignatov fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fabio Auer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiy Dorenskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th match minute, Krasnodar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Krasnodar FC's Mikhail Ignatov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Auer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabio Auer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gennadiy Demyanenko in the 33rd minute of play. Krasnodar FC were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Austria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leonid Malafeev took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mikhail Ignatov got free with Fabio Auer in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Arkadiy Dorenskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Gennadiy Demyanenko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Fabio Auer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 47th minute of the match Krasnodar FC got a corner. Austria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonid Malafeev ran over to the corner to take the kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Galishoff to make the kick off. Jonas Nalder kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Marvin Harrer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 minutes of play, Krasnodar FC's Leonid Malafeev made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabio Auer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrey Aganin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Fabio Auer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mikhail Ignatov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Auer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. After 74 minutes of play, Krasnodar FC's Mikhail Ignatov made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabio Auer was left in no man's land by his defense there! 83 minutes into the match, Mikhail Ignatov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabio Auer. Austria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mikhail Ignatov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Mikhail Ignatov put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fabio Auer. In the 92nd minute Gennadiy Demyanenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Auer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Krasnodar FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
