Bayan Baye was slow to take the kick. During this time Wargön's players had a chance to rest. Wargön's Bayan Baye was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Flavio Vittori in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Italy fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Italy's Zaccheo Andolina looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikael Liberatore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Archibaldo Velaz made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Eliseo Cutri. In the 19th minute Mikael Liberatore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sören Tunberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Italy's Eliseo Cutri managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Archibaldo Velaz in the 25 minute of the game. Siricio Liotta was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nils-Arne Nilsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Nils-Arne Nilsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Vittori was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
