Remy Dupuy hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Camille Baume kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laércio Marques's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Fernado Chapado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camille Baume, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardo Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Maxime Durand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Laércio Marques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laércio Marques was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Laércio Marques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. The referee ignored YPIRANGA F.C.'s protests and gave Sidney Recife a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, YPIRANGA F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Recife to maneuver through the defense. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Marques in the 87th minute of play. YPIRANGA F.C.'s Laércio Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Peletier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
