In the 10th minute, Felipe Barreto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rune Jarstein was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Gunter Waller sent off a good shot on target. Felipe Barreto struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Rune Jarstein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Barreto in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rune Jarstein saved Hertha 1969 from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Wilson Amorim successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zé Paulo da Silva spun around in front of the goal 25 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Portugal's goal. In the 27thth minute of the game Felipe Barreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Felipe Barreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Zé Paulo da Silva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilson Amorim. The goal made the score 2-1. In the 47th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rune Jarstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Hertha 1969's Zé Paulo da Silva. But to his dismay, Zé Paulo da Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Oswald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 78 played minutes Hertha 1969 got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo da Silva. Rune Jarstein made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target.
