De Gröna FK's Marcu Alecu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save De Gröna FK from getting a goal against them. Hristo Stoichkov might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcu Alecu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hristo Stoichkov ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcu Alecu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hristo Stoichkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcu Alecu came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletico Picapedrense's Hristo Stoichkov. But to his dismay, Hristo Stoichkov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of De Gröna FK booed when Athletico Picapedrense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivón Nafría didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcu Alecu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Hristo Stoichkov came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Athletico Picapedrense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hristo Stoichkov couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Herman Källberg made a precise shot to the right of Jesus Sayveon. Athletico Picapedrense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. The audience was convinced that Hristo Stoichkov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcu Alecu was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind De Gröna FK's goalkeeper Marcu Alecu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Athletico Picapedrense's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Grealish came free, but Jesus Sayveon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Athletico Picapedrense defense, Jack Grealish kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesus Sayveon. The Athletico Picapedrense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesus Sayveon should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Paulo Eanes made the kick off in the second half. De Gröna FK's Paulo Eanes suffered a fractured collar bone after 50 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Juanito Gabucio fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Athletico Picapedrense's protests and gave Juanito Gabucio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Athletico Picapedrense's Juanito Gabucio got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind De Gröna FK's goalkeeper Marcu Alecu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, De Gröna FK's goal looked a bit too open when Hristo Stoichkov came free, but Marcu Alecu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Tommy Ferm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Athletico Picapedrense's Zenon Klewinski was substituted for Reno Cartagena. When Eloi Fontanella came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Athletico Picapedrense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eloi Fontanella couldn't finish the play. Athletico Picapedrense made a substitution. Orlondo Aguado replaced Hristo Stoichkov. Eloi Fontanella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Athletico Picapedrense were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after De Gröna FK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juanito Gabucio took the corner. After taking down the ball on Athletico Picapedrense's corner Juanito Gabucio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcu Alecu quite easily take care of the ball. Herman Källberg took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jesus Sayveon. Jesus Sayveon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Marcu Alecu came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletico Picapedrense's Eloi Fontanella. But to his dismay, Eloi Fontanella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Jesus Sayveon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Ferm, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The corner ended in Coronel Ribas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but De Gröna FK's Marcu Alecu did a great save. In the 91st minute Eloi Fontanella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcu Alecu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Athletico Picapedrense's goalkeeper Jesus Sayveon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arman Skräddare. Enzo Vezin hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the De Gröna FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Athletico Picapedrense.
