Athletico Picapedrense's Jesus Sayveon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Athletico Picapedrense from getting a goal against them. Olimpia HSB's Vladan Kovačević played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hristo Stoichkov in the 6th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Athletico Picapedrense's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Czeszejko came free, but Jesus Sayveon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Olimpia HSB getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Nikola Mirotić hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Olimpia HSB's Nikola Mirotić got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Fabian Czeszejko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olimpia HSB fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hristo Stoichkov was the one to do the kick off.
