Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 11 minutes into the match, Valiant F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Mikkel Wulff came free, but Barrie Emberson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Barrie Emberson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. William Nethercot kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Valiant F.C's zone, Bertram Svenningsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barrie Emberson came out of the goal and Bertram Svenningsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Whalley came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barrie Emberson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Steen in the 38th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Bertram Svenningsen sped through Valiant F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Barrie Emberson. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Lars Steen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Steen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barrie Emberson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Whalley in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Chris Nygaard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Barrie Emberson made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Bertram Svenningsen took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Barrie Emberson to make any attempt to save it. Lars Steen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie Emberson having to interfere. The supporters of Denmark booed when Valiant F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Windsor didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Barrie Emberson saved Valiant F.C from getting behind. Simon Bendtsen lost his temper 80 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Denmark fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty!
