After some careless play in the NAGANO F.C defense, Arquímedes Ladio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vellito Alguerdo. The NAGANO F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vellito Alguerdo should have stopped the shot. Jeremias Cordario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jari Alenius in the 42nd minute of play. Vellito Alguerdo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Domingo Librado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. NAGANO F.C's Gabriel Batistuta was substituted for Thorbjörn Hong. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
