With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hias Nüssli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 38 minutes into the game, Onur Övünç threw the ball into play from the sideline. Switzerland's Rodrigo von Känel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thanks to some nice moves Ergin Oruz could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Hias Nüssli however easily saved by the left post. Veniamin Zisimopoulos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Federico Wiesendanger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tansel Kahveci during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, KARŞIYAKA's Tansel Kahveci got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuele Kunz made a kick off. With a little luck, KARŞIYAKA's Neco Arslanoğlu got control of the ball when Samuele Kunz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacinto Maurer hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Switzerland's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Maurer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Neco Arslanoğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of KARŞIYAKA booed when Switzerland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuele Kunz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Timo Siegmund fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Switzerland's protests and gave Timo Siegmund a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Switzerland getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Timo Siegmund hit a great ball. After 83 minutes, Adnan Özbala made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Tansel Kahveci was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. In the 86th match minute, KARŞIYAKA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tansel Kahveci to maneuver through the defense.
