The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. FC Hamburg's Roland Olivier got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Alban Bolesta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Olivier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Fodor Daniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Roland Olivier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Roland Olivier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Hendrik Holletschek kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Alban Bolesta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 64th minute of play. Roland Olivier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fodor Daniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Olivier in the 70th minute of play. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Olivier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
