Roncourt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zaccheo Andolina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Roncourt booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Cutri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddy Million's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Vittori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Porziano Marchitelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Porziano Marchitelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eddy Million stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 89th minute, Jean-Marc Kazmierczak ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. The Roncourt players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
