After 13 minutes of play, Ibis Football Club's Eurico Peixoto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Corrêa was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Dede Barros fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vascogoianiense FC's protests and gave Dede Barros a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute Vascogoianiense FC were awarded a corner. Dorian Quirino went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Ibis Football Club booed when Vascogoianiense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Eurico Peixoto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Alexandre Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Per-Oskar Nordstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Corrêa having to interfere. Eurico Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bernardo Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ibis Football Club's Eurico Peixoto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bernardo Corrêa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eurico Peixoto to make the kick off. Vascogoianiense FC's Bernardo Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eurico Peixoto in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute João Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Vasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Acácio Vasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, João Pirani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernardo Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Acácio Vasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pirani's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Vascogoianiense FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dorian Quirino in the 81st minute. Cazimir Sălcudeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardo Corrêa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cazimir Sălcudeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 84th minute Eurico Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Bebeto Leal got a free kick in the 94th minute. Eurico Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle sounded Ibis Football Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vascogoianiense FC.
