After a rather tough play, Programayin's Ourente Egea got a free kick in the 10th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaspar Yanes in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eguen Catalan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atlético Grau Piura's Romulo Amestoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olando Liendo in the 17th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Gaspar Yanes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Programayin's Eguen Catalan. Eguen Catalan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Atlético Grau Piura booed when Programayin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denílson Colmenares didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Atlético Grau Piura getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Cordarryl Baltuile hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Olando Liendo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Programayin's supporters rose to their feet, but Olando Liendo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romulo Amestoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eguen Catalan came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Grau Piura's Oliveiro Sibila. But to his dismay, Oliveiro Sibila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olando Liendo to make the kick off. The supporters of Programayin booed when Atlético Grau Piura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Mattei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romulo Amestoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olando Liendo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Programayin defense, Gaspar Yanes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eguen Catalan. The Programayin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eguen Catalan should have stopped the shot. Romulo Amestoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ourente Egea in the 72nd minute of the match. When Martin Barreda fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Grau Piura's protests and gave Martin Barreda a yellow card for diving instead. With an all-out effort, Atlético Grau Piura's Eguen Catalan threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rayman Moixi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Programayin's Eguen Catalan got control of the ball when Gaspar Yanes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute, Walter-Adrián Colmenares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Atlético Grau Piura's Oliveiro Sibila slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eguen Catalan. That made the score 1-5 after 86 minutes of play. Atlético Grau Piura's Romulo Amestoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter-Adrián Colmenares in the 89th minute of play. Eguen Catalan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliveiro Sibila in the 93rd minute of the match.
