Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arrigo Di Maria having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. EIBARPOOL's Arrigo Di Maria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save EIBARPOOL from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in EIBARPOOL's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arrigo Di Maria came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belarmino Valdivia in the 59th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Arrigo Di Maria. EIBARPOOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Arrigo Di Maria made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Netherlands reached it. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliodor Senin in the 94th minute of the match. The EIBARPOOL fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
