Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 19th minute, Nencho Stoimirov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC BEROE StZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Temelko Gopov made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Switzerland's Federico Wiesendanger. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Federico Wiesendanger the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Switzerland protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Federico Wiesendanger had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Nencho Stoimirov shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The throw-in from Lulcho Iliev in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Switzerland's Eric Thomi. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Temelko Gopov, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Nencho Stoimirov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Hias Nüssli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vladko Vakarelov went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute Switzerland were awarded a corner. Samuele Kunz went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Samuele Kunz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andoni Zubizarreta quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manole Petrescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the game, Rodrigo von Känel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Switzerland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC BEROE StZ the free kick. In the 79th minute, Rodrigo von Känel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hias Nüssli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Petrescu in the 82nd minute of the match. The supporters of Switzerland booed when FC BEROE StZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugon Rozanski didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, FC BEROE StZ could leave the field as winners, despite Switzerland having more of the ball for most of the match.
