Cleto Peyo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 24th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cleto Peyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cleto Peyo saved FK Řitka from getting behind. In the 28thth minute of the game Jiří Lupač who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vladimír Svatý made a great header on FK Řitka's corner, it was just that Netherlands's Arnout Reekers managed to reach the ball for a save. Cleto Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubens da Silveira got free with Arnout Reekers in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Arnout Reekers was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 44th minute, FK Řitka's Rubens da Silveira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Leonard Filipașcu might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonard Filipașcu ran back to his position shaking his head. Cleto Peyo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubens da Silveira in the 74th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
