The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gong Ying Zheng was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bernardo Sharkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. Bernardo Sharkin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. Laurens Vandamme kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Sharkin got free with Casper Claes in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Bernardo Sharkin took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Casper Claes to make any attempt to save it. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gusztáv Bács in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Sharkin came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Sharkin might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Casper Claes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernardo Sharkin ran back to his position shaking his head. Bernardo Sharkin had several of the Belgium's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 39 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Casper Claes as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 44th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Vanderstraeten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Gong Ying Zheng managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Yves Dervaux might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gong Ying Zheng. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yves Dervaux ran back to his position shaking his head. 91 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. When Tom Van der Veeken fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VC zoetwater's protests and gave Tom Van der Veeken a yellow card for diving instead. Tom Van der Veeken kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Sharkin in the 95th minute of the match. The Belgium supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgium would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
