Rubén-Darío Bustos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Frank Peletier came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the France fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Peletier couldn't finish the play. R.B Leipzig's Ian Grande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remy Dupuy in the 7th minute of play. Aloisio Munet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maxime Durand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. R.B Leipzig were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after France's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ilkay Gündoğan took the corner. R.B Leipzig's Ilkay Gündoğan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Maxime Durand in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the France defense, Aloisio Munet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maxime Durand. The France fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maxime Durand should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes into the game, R.B Leipzig's Aloisio Munet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maxime Durand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Ian Grande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camille Baume in the 22nd minute of play. R.B Leipzig's Aloisio Munet got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 34 minutes into the game, France's Camille Baume nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ian Grande made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 38th minute Frank Peletier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Grande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloisio Munet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloisio Munet in the 43rd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aloisio Munet made a kick off. Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloisio Munet, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 60 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goalkeeper Ian Grande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Peletier. Jean Bombelles charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jean Bombelles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ilkay Gündoğan made a great header on R.B Leipzig's corner, it was just that France's Maxime Durand managed to reach the ball for a save. Maxime Durand came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by R.B Leipzig's Aloisio Munet. But to his dismay, Aloisio Munet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Jean Bombelles made in the 73rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Robert Chapuis immediately put the ball in play. 77 minutes into the match, Aloisio Munet notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of France's Maxime Durand. Maxime Durand was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ian Grande made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Frank Peletier sent off a good shot on target. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. R.B Leipzig were victorious despite being under pressure from France for much of the match.
