Diamonds FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 6th minute Melchor Garoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltazar Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melchor Garoa in the 9th minute of play. Melchor Garoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Diniz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Diamonds FC's zone, Ivan Nisio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Diniz came out of the goal and Ivan Nisio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis Mejía showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pedro Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Ivan Nisio managed to get in a good position for a shot. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Nisio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baltazar Diniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivan Nisio in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baltazar Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Melchor Garoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baltazar Diniz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Nisio's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Nisio in the 36th minute of play forced Diamonds FC's goalkeeper Baltazar Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melchor Garoa took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baltazar Diniz. Baltazar Diniz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Sebastião Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Nisio in the 46th minute of play forced Diamonds FC's goalkeeper Baltazar Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltazar Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Nisio in the 47th minute of the match. When ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Ivan Nisio in 48 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Baltazar Diniz guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Nisio to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivan Nisio got free with Baltazar Diniz in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Ivan Nisio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltazar Diniz was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. With his leg Baltazar Diniz managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Tomáš Kožený fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 81 minutes into the match, Diamonds FC's goal looked a bit too open when Semih Recai came free, but Baltazar Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Ovidio Jokin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Baltazar Diniz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 89th minute, Semih Recai reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Baltazar Diniz. The goal made the score 0-4. If Semih Recai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
