In the 17th minute of the match, Saturnino Curcio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Slawomir Michalski saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Matias Bilintx came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sporting de Gijón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Bilintx couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Sporting de Gijón's Dante Fernendo got control of the ball when Marcelo Fero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Dante Fernendo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 98th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Dominix to maneuver through the defense. The Sporting de Gijón supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Stone City's performance. The match ended with a win for Stone City.
