After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Timoteo Columbo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia 1903's supporters rose to their feet, but Timoteo Columbo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Bladi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulises Gartzen in the 31st minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Grosso United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Åke Abelsson to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reynaldo Pietro got free with Primo Speranza in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Grosso United's Eduardo Gonchan got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 96 minutes into the match, Grosso United's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Morenø came free, but Jonas Bladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96thth minute of the game Nicanor Morenø who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grosso United's Jonas Bladi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neither Academia 1903 or Grosso United succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. Grosso United's Reynaldo Pietro started the play with his kick off. With an all-out effort, Grosso United's Primo Speranza threw himself towards the right post 120 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gustavo da Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 126 minutes into the game, Academia 1903's Nicanor Morenø nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonas Bladi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.
